DENVER (KDVR) — Even with a summer full of rain, 2023 barely missed making the history books as one of the wettest years on record.Spring and summer continued to break records with several severe storms hitting Denver and the Front Range. June 2023 was officially the wettest June on record since 1882, and May was the 10th wettest May in history. At one point in May, Denver had five times more rain than Seattle. From May 10-15, Denver picked up 4.57 inches of rainfall. In Seattle, the 6-day total was only 0.12 inches. December 2023 has been one of the driest on record for snowfall However, thanks to a lack of snow in December, Denver missed making the top 20th wettest years in history by a slim margin.Denver International Airport, where precipitation is officially measured for the Mile High City, only got around 1.4 inches of snow in December making the list of the "least snowiest" Decembers.According to Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Travis Michels, Denver received 18.94 inch...Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel laments decision to keep LB Bradley Chubb on field late in blowout loss

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Miami Dolphins were playing out the final minutes of a particularly distasteful defeat Sunday when things went from bad to worse. The first-string defense had already been humbled and beaten by the Baltimore Ravens when star linebacker Bradley Chubb dropped to the ground, flat on his back and unable to move because of a knee injury. A while later, the team’s sack leader was lifted onto a cart and driven into the tunnel.Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel lamented his decision to keep Chubb on the field in the waning minutes of what became a 56-19 loss.“In hindsight, I would have absolutely not wanted him out there if I knew he was going to get hurt, for sure,” McDaniel said. “That’s a known part of the job that I understand fully. It doesn’t look very smart at all.”While it appears unlikely that the sixth-year pro will return to play this season, McDaniel grimaced and held out hope for a favorable diagnosis.“We don’t have the information to find out what it is yet...South Florida continues festivities on New Year’s Day

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia launched a record 90 Shahed-type drones across Ukraine during the early hours of the new year, and Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country would “intensify” its attacks on its neighbor.Speaking during a New Year’s Day visit to a military hospital, Putin said Ukraine could expect more such strikes after shelling of the Russian border city of Belgorod that killed more than two dozen people and wounded more than 100 others. “They want to intimidate us and create uncertainty within our country. We will intensify strikes. Not a single crime against our civilian population will go unpunished,” the Russian leader said, describing the barrage of Belgorod as a “terrorist act.”Russia has blamed Ukraine for Saturday’s attack, which was one of the deadliest to take place on Russian soil since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine started more than 22 months ago. DAKAR, Senegal (AP) — Chad’s transitional government appointed a former opposition leader who recently returned from exile as its new prime minister. Succes Masra will serve as the country’s prime minister through the transition to civilian rule, Mahamat Ahmad Alhabo, Chad’s new secretary-general of the presidency, said on state television. Masra, president of The Transformers opposition party, fled Chad in October 2022. The country’s military government at the time suspended his party and six others in a clampdown on protests against interim leader Mahamat Idriss Deby’s decision to extend his time in power by two more years. More than 60 people were killed in the protests, which the government condemned as “an attempted coup.”An agreement between the country’s minister of reconciliation and Masra’s political party two months ago allowed the exiled politician and other opposition figures to return to Chad. The passage last month of a referendum on a new...A Colorado mother suspected of killing 2 of her children makes court appearance in London
