An infant suffered minor injuries and a mother was hospitalized after a fire broke out on the fourth floor of an apartment building. As a result of the fire, 22 people, including 13 children have been displaced. On Thursday, just after 8:30 p.m., Lauderhill Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a structure fire in the Inverrary Club Apartments 2600 NW 56th Ave. A two-fire alarm went off when the blaze started in an apartment, according to fire officials. Multiple agencies were dispatched to the scene, including the Tamarac Fire Department and Sunrise Fire Department, due to the amount of smoke and fire at the location. The Lauderhill Fire Department’s Public Information Officer said an infant suffered minor burns on its arm and did not need to be transported. The infant’s mother suffered second-degree burns as she was carrying the child to prevent them from further harm; the mother was transported to Broward Health Medical Center. Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a Miami Lakes apartment that forced people out of their homes on Friday morning. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials said the one-alarm fire occurred just before 6 a.m.Live video footage from 7SkyForce showed smoke as it seeped out of the building. Residents of the apartment complex were seen in the parking lot of the property. After the blaze was put out, firefighters blocked off an apartment on the first floor of the building. Fire officials reported no injuries or transports as 12 units worked on extinguishing the flames. A Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff is facing criminal charges in connection with an incident involving a motorist, according to a statement the Office posted online.The Sheriff’s Office employee was pulled over by a state trooper on Route 28 in Bourne at about 2:45 p.m. on July 29 after the police received a call from a motorist, according to the statement.The employee was then arrested on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime.
